Kanye West Claims He's Being Blackballed Because He Can't Book Concert Venues
Kanye West is claiming he has difficulty securing venues for performances and is seeking assistance through social media.
On Tuesday, West expressed frustration, urging his followers for help.
"We just sold out the United Center in seven minutes and I just wanted to express to everybody out there to see if anybody can help with this," the Chicago native said in a since-deleted Instagram Story. "It's the only arena I had access to in the past year. And when I call, people say there's no availables for me and you know why that is. If there's anybody out there that can help with this, please do."
The father of four revealed he hasn't performed for over a year and attributes the difficulties to his past antisemitic rants.
In a subsequent post, West, 46, drew parallels between his current struggles and those faced by Elvis Presley.
Following West's claims, Page Six reports a positive turn as he shared screenshots of supportive messages from individuals offering assistance in securing venues for his performances.
West disclosed that all of his show bookings are now managed through the Cara Lewis Group.
The Grammy Award winner's recent self-reported challenges booking live concert venues follows a history of tour troubles.
In 2016, he abruptly terminated his Saint Pablo tour after delivering impassioned rants about Jay-Z, Hillary Clinton, and Facebook before walking off stage. The entire second leg of the tour was scapped, reportedly resulting in lawsuits that were eventually settled in 2018.
