Terry Crews Considers Trevor Noah's Taylor Swift Joke At Grammys As An 'Honor'
Terry Crews took no offense at Trevor Noah's joke during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
During the live broadcast of the Grammys Sunday, cameras focused on the former NFL football player after host Noah, 39, cracked a joke about the attention Taylor Swift receives at NFL games due to her connection with Travis Kelce.
Noah declared during the ceremony, "I'm gonna get revenge. Every time someone says Taylor Swift. I'm going to cut the cameras to someone who plays football." The camera proceeded to cut to Crews.
In an interview with PEOPLE on Thursday at the Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team 2024 Livery Reveal in Las Vegas, Crews, 55, shared that despite the initial surprise, he didn't mind being put "on blast" by Noah at all.
"Believe you me, it was the shock of my life. First of all, you don't want to mess up. I don't want to spill a drink on Beyoncé... I'm like don't step on Babyface's toes, please!" the actor expressed about attending the Grammys.
"All I want to do is just enjoy the show and not mess up," he said. "Then Trevor puts me on blast in front of billions of people, but it was an honor."
Crews went on to say how he did not dwell on the joke.
"Not at all," Crews told PEOPLE when asked if he'd spoken to Swift, 34. "I left it alone."
Crews expressed being a huge fan of Trevor Noah as the Grammys host and believes that we might even see him hosting the Oscars in the near future.
"Trevor didn't insult anybody, he was the perfect host. I see him hosting the Oscars really soon," the 'America's Got Talent' host said. "I think that that's the next step for him 'cause he is killing it as a Grammys host. He's amazing!"
