Barron Trump's Height Revealed; Likely Among Tallest Presidential Sons In US History
Barron Trump's growth spurt may have made him one of the tallest presidential sons in U.S. history, according to a report.
Donald and Melania Trump's 17-year-old son was seen towering over his 6-foot-3 father at his grandmother's funeral service last month.
During an Iowa rally in January, the former president said Barron now stands at an impressive 6 feet, 7 inches, though he claimed a height of 6 feet, 8 inches for his youngest child in a December 2023 interview with the "Moms for America" podcast.
Slate reported that if Barron is indeed 6 feet, 7 inches tall, he may be a top contender for the title of "largest presidential son."
However, due to the lack of historical records on the heights of past presidents' offspring, it is difficult to prove that Barron is indeed the tallest.
Peter Kastor, a presidential history professor at the University of Washington in St. Louis, told Slate that in previous centuries, people did not necessarily keep such detailed records.
"As a historian, I would say we do not have sufficiently accurate records to draw a conclusion," Kastor said of whether or not the sons of tall presidents like Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt were also tall.
Before Barron's recent growth spurt, his older brother, Eric Trump, held the title of the tallest Trump at 6 feet, 5 inches.
Donald Trump Jr.'s reported height is 6 feet, 1 inch, according to Town & Country. Ivanka Trump and Melania Trump are believed to be 5 feet, 11 inches tall.
During his Iowa rally last month, Trump attributed Barron's height to the food prepared by his late grandmother, Amalija Knavs.
"That's how he got so tall, he only ate her food," Trump jokingly remarked, as seen in a video shared by C-SPAN.
The former president also shared that despite the talks of him being a good NBA prospect, his teenage son prefers soccer over basketball.
"I said you're gonna be a basketball player. He said, 'Well, I like soccer, dad, actually.' I thought... at your height, I like basketball better, but you can't talk them into everything," Trump told a crowd of supporters.
Barron made his last public appearance at the funeral service for Melania's mom, Amalija, at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Florida on Jan. 18.
The teenager's significant height advantage over his father was evident in photos showing him walking side-by-side with Trump and putting a hand on his back.
Photos also captured Barron towering over his parents and his grandfather, Viktor Knvas, in front of the church.
In her eulogy, Melania touched on her mother's love for her grandson, sharing that she showered Barron with "affection ... love, tender care and unwavering devotion."
Both Barron and Melania have largely avoided public appearances related to Trump's re-election campaign.
Political expert Grant Reeher suggested to the Mirror that Melania's absence from the campaign trail might be an effort to protect Barron from excessive exposure amid Trump's controversies and legal challenges.
