Kanye West recently sparked a wave of speculation among fans after they noticed what appeared to be a bump on his lip.

On Monday, the rapper and fashion designer took to Instagram to share a video in which he addressed his followers with the camera close to his face as he defended his right to share risqué photos of his wife, Bianca Censori.

However, what caught the attention of many was the protruding "growth" on West's upper lip.

Social media was flooded with comments questioning the nature of the apparent protrusion.

One user wrote, "But what is that bubble on Kanye's lip," while another added, "Bro, why [is] Kanye's lip protruding like that[?]"

A third user described the bump as a "little testicle hanging from his lip."

Another fan expressed concern, asking, "What's that lil thing dangling from Kanye's lips [for real]??"

However, some fans said this wasn't the first time they observed the bump.

They posted throwback images of the Grammy-winning rapper, showing that the alleged "growth" on his top lip was present even before his recent pricey dental work, which included an $850,000 titanium teeth upgrade.

"For some reason news sites are all obsessed with Kanye's top lip and 'growth.' Except it's just his lip with no growth. Pic 1, 1 year ago. Pic 2, 6 years ago. Pics 3-4 today. I can't believe none of these people never noticed his lips until now. All people have tubercles," one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside old photos of West.

Amid the speculation, celebrity dentist Dr. Clement Kairouz offered insight into West's lip situation in an interview with Page Six.

Dr. Kairouz, who has not treated West personally, clarified that it is not a cause for concern.

"Kanye has always had a prominent cupid's bow and upper tubercle tissue, so I do not think we're looking at tissue overgrowth," explained Kairouz, who works at Apa Aesthetic New York.

The dentist attributed the appearance to a dental bridge that West had installed, pushing his upper lip out.

"Photos suggest he got a fixed bridge that does not respect natural oral anatomy or leave space for soft tissue," noted Kairouz.

The bridge is described as "over-projected," causing West's lip to appear more prominent.

This comes just weeks after West showcased his new metallic teeth on Instagram.

According to the Daily Mail, the rapper had his natural teeth replaced with custom-made titanium teeth with the help of Dr. Thomas Connelly and cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi.

Connelly praised West's vision for creating unique dental art, describing the rapper's design process as transcending the "dental progression."

However, he told Complex that West's natural teeth remained intact and healthy.

An unnamed insider revealed to Page Six that West's implants, known as "fixed prosthodontics," are a form of experimental dentistry and were entirely designed by the "Gold Digger" hitmaker.

These permanent implants, made with palladium and platinum materials, go "way beyond" traditional veneers or grills, the source added.
