Netizens Mock Jennifer Lopez, Call Singer 'Talentless' Following Release Of 'This Is Me...Now' Album
Jennifer Lopez just dropped her newest album, but many were seemingly not impressed.
On Friday, Lopez finally released her most awaited album, "This Is Me...Now," a sequel to her 2002 album "This Is Me...Then." She dedicated her new record to her husband, Ben Affleck. However, critics were not happy with it and called J.Lo "talentless."
"Horrible CD! Why do they promote [a] talentless product?" one commented on Lopez's interview on "Today with Hoda & Jenna" while promoting the new album.
Another added, "@JLo ure [sic] still a fraud who can't sing and has no talent."
"[I]t was a sad day for real music when JLo and her dusty dress came to town and overstayed her talentless welcome," a different user said.
The criticism about Lopez allegedly lacking talent isn't new at all. Several critics called her in the same manner even years ago and accused her of allegedly stealing the work of other singers.
However, many of those who already heard Lopez's new album voiced their approval online. For them, it's J.Lo's best album release so far, noting they loved the playlist and every song on the record.
"OMG?!?!!! #ThisIsMeNow is such a skipless masterpiece! JENNIFER LOPEZ, the hit maker you are! It's hands down the best album ever! Literally AOTY worthy & I'm not capping ngl. I didn't expect Jen to EAT this good. I'm sooo proud of you @JLo," one fan wrote.
"#ThisIsMeNow album is a complete musical masterpiece, and I can't even imagine what it's like to watch that cinematographic art that she created," another user stated. "[S]orry, but she deserves so much more recognition as an artist; we have to be glad we still have someone like her in the industry."
"I am not lying at all when I say #ThisIsMeNow is Jennifer Lopez's best album to date! This album is 'no skip' at all. Grammy people, you should not sleep on this! All of the songs are bop and tell a story. I am so proud of you @JLo; this album is worth the wait! I love it!" a third person opined.
"This album is literally everything, full of bops, no skips, JLo grew ... as an artist a lot, this kinda sounds like her old self, but also with the new version of her, this is a magical experience #ThisIsMeNow," a fourth user said, giving Lopez's album a thumbs up.
"Jlo This Is Me Now has surprised the s**t out of me. I have been critical of your singing and dancing before, but this... this is magic! Bravo!" a critic turned fan wrote.
Meanwhile, Lopez is taking her new album on the road. On Thursday, she announced her "This Is Me...Now" tour, which will kick off on June 26 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
The 34-date string of North American arena concerts this summer will see her perform in several cities, including Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Nashville, New Orleans and more before it wraps up on Aug. 31 at the Toyota Center in Houston, People reported.
