Adele To Earn Over $10.7 Million In First 4 Concert Dates In Germany
Adele is solidifying her status as one of the biggest artists in the world, with her upcoming shows in Germany expected to earn her over $10 million.
Speaking with the Daily Mail earlier this month, brand and culture expert Nick Ede estimated that the superstar will amass over 10 million euros ($10.78 million) from the four August concerts in Munich she initially announced last month. Adele has since added six more shows in Munich due to "unprecedented demand."
The concerts will be held at an open-air venue based at Munich Messe that was specifically created for Adele's shows. The venue can accommodate 80,000 people per night.
Ede discussed the significant financial impact of Adele's European gig, telling the outlet: "Performing for four nights to 80,000 people per night will make her millions and also cement her status as one of the biggest stars in the world.
"Adele will have been offered a lot of money to perform at the purpose built venue and I can expect there will be various packages available for fans from general seating to VIP and even meet and greet packages that will go for thousands," the expert predicted.
Describing the "Easy on Me" hitmaker as a "shrewd businesswoman," Ede also said Adele will likely get a percentage of the earnings from all merchandise, food, and beverages sold during her shows.
The expert said he expects all of Adele's concerts to be sold out and have a "Taylor Swift effect" in Munich.
The U.S. leg of Swift's record-breaking "Eras Tour" was estimated to have boosted the country's economy overall by around $4.3 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Ede speculated that Adele might also capitalize on the event by filming a concert documentary for streaming platforms, similar to Jennifer Lopez's collaboration with Amazon.
"What's great about Adele is that she knows what her fans want, but also she drip feeds them fabulously with nuggets that keeps them wanting more," Ede told the outlet.
Adele first announced her Munich concerts via Instagram on Jan. 31, writing: "I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer."
On Feb. 6, the "Hello" singer announced that the final dates for her Munich shows are Aug. 2, 3, 9, 10, 14, 16, 23, 24, 30, and 31.
Fans can now buy tickets at Ticketmaster and Eventim.
The announcement of the shows comes amid the success of Adele's ongoing Las Vegas residency, "Weekends With Adele," from which she reportedly earns at least $1 million per night.
By the time the residency wraps up in June, she will have performed 100 shows in total.
The New York Post reported that Adele is set to receive a guaranteed $105 million overall from the extended run.
Adele's deal reportedly includes 50% of the merchandise sold and an additional 5% of the profits from tickets if sales minus expenses exceed her nightly windfall.
Adele's net worth is estimated at $220 million, thanks to not only her shows, tours, and Las Vegas residency but also her income from album sales and digital downloads, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Adele's financial prowess extends beyond live performances.
The singer also reportedly earns from deals for the rights to the part documentary of her "Weekends With Adele" residency as well as residuals from TV syndication, streaming, on-demand sales, CD sales, and digital release.
