Donald Trump Musical To Focus On Melania, Ivanka And Stormy Daniels; Will Sing 'For Your Vote'
Donald Trump and the women in his life are the subjects of a new parody musical that debuted off-Broadway this week.
Touted as an "irreverent musical comedy revue," "Five: The Parody Musical" opened at Theater 555 in New York City Monday.
The production, inspired by the British musical comedy "Six," revolves around the five significant women in Trump's life -- his current wife Melania, ex-wives Ivana Trump and Marla Maples, his daughter Ivanka, and adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
"Poised to make America laugh again, 'Five' is an irreverent musical comedy revue starring some of the women in the life of America's past (and hopefully not future) President. Ivana, Marla, and Melania are joined by crowd favorite Stormy and daddy's girl Ivanka as they each take the spotlight and sing their hearts out for your vote," the musical's description read, according to Playbill.
Drawing inspiration from the successful format of "Six," which focuses on the six wives of King Henry VIII, "Five" aims to tickle the audience's funny bone while offering a unique perspective on the former president and current Republican frontrunner's personal life.
The tagline for the show humorously declared, "Ivana. Marla. Melania. Stormy. Ivanka ... Divorced. Her-Larious. Uncensored."
"Five: The Parody Musical" is scheduled for public performances until March 10 at Theater 555. Tickets are available for $49.
Directed by Jen Wineman, the musical features an ensemble cast including Anyae Anasia, Gabriella Joy Rodriguez, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Gabi Garcia, and Hannah Bonnett.
According to an Instagram account dedicated to "Five," a portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Drag Out the Vote, a nonprofit that works with drag performers.
Michael Cohen, Trump's former "fixer" who paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about an alleged affair with the former president, promoted the parody musical last week.
He served as a host at a "Five" press preview, introducing the cast members, The New York Times reported.
Cohen, who has seen the script for the musical, described it as "clever and funny," according to the publication.
The musical's opening comes just days after a judge confirmed that Trump's hush-money trial is slated to start on March 25.
The ex-president faces 34 counts of falsifying business records with the intent to conceal illegal conduct connected to his 2016 presidential campaign.
Trump, who has denied having an affair with Daniels, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Meanwhile, Trump recently launched a sneaker line called Trump Sneakers at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, where he showed off his $399 gold "Never Surrender" high-top sneakers.
The limited-edition sneakers quickly sold out after their debut.
