Adult film actress Kagney Linn Karter reportedly died by suicide in her Ohio home on Thursday. She was 36.

Online records confirmed that her body was received by the Medical Examiner's office last Thursday from Parma, Ohio, per TMZ. A representative for the Parma Police Department told the media outlet that Kagney appeared to have taken her own life, which her friends confirmed, too.

After her death, her friends Rachel and Megan, owners of the fitness studios Ecole de Pole Cleveland and Ecole de Pole Akron, where she attended pole dancing classes, started a GoFundMe page for her memorial.

Through the fundraising page, the two confirmed that "Kagney tragically took her own life in her home" less than two weeks after she attended a final class with them on Feb. 7.

Rachel and Megan also penned a heartwarming tribute to honor their friend.

"Even in her darkest days, however, she still showed up to the studio, always ready to learn, contribute, better herself in whatever small way she could manage," they wrote.

The two business owners continued, "As alone as she undoubtedly felt within the confines of her own head, she continued to make an effort to show up for her friends and the community who cared about her. She fought her own battles with the same tenacity and drive she showed in every other area of her life, with as much strength as she could."

"...we were firsthand witnesses to Kagney's spirit. And as much as we have all cried for her, we know she would have cried for us tenfold. That was just who Kagney was. She loved deeply. And, because of that, she will be missed just as deeply," Kagney's friends added.

Rachel and Megan's fundraising efforts on behalf of Kagney's mom, Tina, have already surpassed their $8,000 goal. As of press time, they have collected $14,035 from 203 donations.

One hundred percent of the funds raised through GoFundMe will go to the preparations for the adult film star's memorial services. Any leftover funds will be donated to the local animal rescue charity.

Kagney Linn Karter was a famous porn star with over 743,000 followers on Instagram. She also had an OnlyFans account.

Karter started her career in the porn business in the mid-2000s. She had starred in countless adult films, modeled and danced at exotic clubs, per TMZ.
