Travis Kelce Is 'Very Aware' Of The World's Obsession With Taylor Swift Romance
Travis Kelce spoke about his romance with Taylor Swift and acknowledged its impact on the NFL.
The 34-year-old football tight end's interview with sports reporter Laura Okmin ahead of the Super Bowl earlier this month recently resurfaced. During their conversation, the athlete was asked if he understood the "impact" of his relationship with the pop icon on the NFL, in particular, how women have become interested in football.
"I'm very aware," Travis said, per Page Six. "Obviously, this is mostly because Taylor's in my life now, and we got her [to be] part of Chiefs Kingdom."
He added, "And sure enough, that brought an entire entourage of human beings who just love to support her and love to support everything that she's about."
Elsewhere in the interview, Okmin complimented Travis, telling him, "Love looks good" on him. He thanked the interviewer and noted that despite his romance with Swift, his attention to the game never went awry.
"I appreciate that, thank you," he replied. "Well, the biggest thing for me is ... I never want the people in the building to ever have the idea that I'm not focused on the game, I'm not focused on being my best at football and not having all my focus and all my attention to my craft and making sure that I'm accountable in the biggest game of our lives."
Travis' big brother, Jason Kelce, previously spoke about how his relationship with Swift prompted him to move into a new home. According to Jason, when he appeared on "The Big Podcast with Shaq," Travis moved into a gated community for security reasons because "people were just staying by his house." However, on his first day in his new abode, "somebody knocks on the back window."
Jason also acknowledged that Swift brought their popularity to the next level.
"We've always been big in the football world, Travis especially. The Taylor world and the pop culture world, that's a whole different level. It's a new demographic that wasn't there before," Jason said.
In one episode of Travis and Jason's "New Heights" podcast, the former clarified that he wasn't blaming his girlfriend for the excessive attention he received.
"I did this to myself, Jason, I know this," Travis told his big brother.
