Netizens React To Melania Trump Allegedly Renegotiating Prenup With Husband Donald
Melania Trump and Donald Trump's prenup has resurfaced amid his recent financial losses.
The Trumps' marriage has been a subject of discussion for years as many wonder why Melania is rarely seen with her husband in public. Rumors about them getting a divorce or living separate lives emerge from time to time because of this.
Recently, many brought up their prenup following Trump's latest legal defeat, costing him $354 million. The businessman and his company had a series of defeats in high-profile lawsuits alleging that they engaged in illegal activities for years, CBS News reported.
Netizens took to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the alleged prenup update between the former first couple, with some claiming Melania is still negotiating with Trump about it.
"She is still negotiating the prenup!!! But it's not looking good now," one wrote.
Another added, "Time to punch out with that prenup."
"The only person who has done anything to Trump is Trump himself. His own behavior. Now we know why, about six months ago, Melania Trump renegotiated her prenup agreement. I have no doubt she is keeping her finances separate as he loses everything," a third netizen opined.
"While Trump is trying to re up, Melania Trump is focused on her prenup," a fourth person claimed.
"It's over @MELANIATRUMP Trump is broke. You hung around for nothing. Seems to me that renegotiating your prenup agreement was [a] waste of time. Well, you got Barron out of the deal," another suggested.
"For those wondering about @MELANIATRUMP. Remember, she renegotiated her prenup this fall. Apparently, she put in her trust money for [her] and Barron, along with property as well. No wonder she's silent right now," another user said, seemingly addressing the ex-FLOTUS' rare public sightings.
Unnamed sources spoke with Page Six in September and claimed that Melania had "quietly" renegotiated her prenuptial agreement with her husband. However, the tipster claimed the renegotiation had nothing to do with the couple's relationship and more about their son Barron's future.
"Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new 'postnup' agreement between herself and Donald Trump," the source said. "This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement."
The insider added, "Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron."
The alleged new agreement reportedly provides for Melania, including the extent of their money and property.
However, another source alleged that Melania wanted to receive more in their new agreement.
"I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also -- from what I understand -- there's a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain," the second source said.
The first tipster claimed that the timing of the couple's agreement was not only because Trump could serve as a president for another term but also due to his legal battles.
"This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles ... [Donald] has suffered," the tipster said.
New York Attorney General Letitia James recently told ABC News that she was ready to seize Trump's assets if he couldn't pay the $354 million fine the judge ordered in his civil fraud case.
"If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment, then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets," James said.
