Singer Amy Grant has opened up about her recovery from the traumatic bicycle accident she experienced in 2022, as well as the surprising cosmetic benefit that it brought her.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, the "Baby, Baby" songstress recalled the five-hour surgery she had to go through and how she woke up to a facelift she "didn't ask for" following her bike crash.

"They asked me, 'Hey, we're going into your throat. Do you want a facelift?' And I said, 'Dear God, no, I actually have to be on stage in X number of weeks,'" she said while recalling the experience.

"It was a five-hour surgery, and they took it like that, and I didn't ask for it, but I came out of surgery, and my neck was a little tighter," she continued.

Grant also noted that the surgery that led to her surprise facelift made her feel like an old car with a makeover.

"I just felt like an old beat-up car that went in and got a paint job and had the dents knocked out. It was just, I mean, that's a gift," she said. Before the unplanned facelift, the doctors discovered a cyst growing in the songstress' throat.

"I had this bike wreck, and unbeknownst to me, I actually had a cyst growing in my throat, and because of the trauma of that bike wreck, it went into hypergrowth. I had this five-hour surgery, and they took it out," the "Every Heartbeat" singer revealed.

However, this meant that Grant had to "learn to sing again."

As of late, the 63-year-old singer is still experiencing the negative effects her bike crash caused her, but she is looking at them from a positive perspective.

"I still have issues with my short-term memory. My balance is still weird. I made a joke about it last night. You know, sometimes I walk around like I'm drunk, and I'm just, 'You just have to laugh about all of it.' And so I can't remember what I can't remember," Grant told the media outlet.

She also shared that she is uncertain if she'll get back on a bike ever again, saying, "There are so many great sports to enjoy. I don't know. I mean, who knows?"

Grant got into a bicycle accident while she was riding with a friend in Nashville, Tennessee, in July 2022, per CBN News.

She was admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital for the treatment of her minor injuries, such as cuts and abrasions.
