Halle Berry addressed her engagement to French actor Olivier Martinez for the first time.

The actress talked to Extra during her first red carpet appearance since her engagement was made public.

"Who knew? I swore it off, right? Never say never, people!" she told Extra.

The couple costarred in the movie "Dark Tide," in 2010 and soon became a couple off screen.

Martinez has dated a string of models and actresses including Kylie Minogue and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Berry has been previously married to baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet.

She has a 3-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
