Jennifer Lopez turned the tables on the press that crushed her romance with Ben Affleck by sharing their love story in a new documentary.

Lopez, 54, and Affleck, 51, opened up about their first romance, split and reconciliation in the documentary "The Greatest Love Story Never Told." The couple confirmed they called off their 2003 wedding because they "crumbled under the pressure" of too much-unwanted media attention. Since they're back together after nearly 20 years of separation and are now happily married, the "On the Floor" singer made the documentary so they could share what they wanted to say about their relationship.

Between the two, Affleck was reluctant to disclose the intimate details of their romance to the world. Lopez acknowledged this in the documentary. However, she still pushed through with it because she knew the "Justice League" star would support her no matter what.

"I don't think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing all of this," Lopez said, per The Sun. "But he loves me, he knows I'm an artist, and he's gonna support me in every way he can because he knows you can't stop me from making the music I made... he doesn't want to stop me. But that doesn't mean he's comfortable being the muse."

Aside from the documentary where the couple dished details about their relationship, Lopez's new album "This Is Me...Now" is dedicated to Affleck. The album is a sequel to her 2002 album "This Is Me...Then," whose muse was also her husband when they first dated.

In the same documentary, Lopez shared the personal letters she received from her husband with some musicians she invited over to their residence. The "Batman" actor was reportedly "taken aback," admitting that there were things he wanted to keep private, but he "grudgingly follows along" with his wife.

"Things that are private I always felt are sacred and special because, in part, they're private," Affleck reportedly said in the documentary, adding, "So this was something of an adjustment for me."

Meanwhile, Lopez shared the ups and downs of her previous relationships before she ended up with Affleck in the documentary. She was previously married to Ojani Noa (1997 to 1998), Cris Judd (2001 to 2003) and Marc Anthony (2004 to 2014). She also dated Casper Smart, Drake, Sean Combs, Bradley Cooper and more.

"I've been married four times now. I'm sure people watching from the outside were like, 'What is this f***ing girl's problem?" Lopez shared. "You saw kind of a compulsive behavior. What I portrayed to the world was, 'Oh this didn't work out, and it's fine, and I'm good, and they're good, and they were great, and I was great'. And all of that was kind of bulls**t."

Lopez admitted that her professional career was fine, but when she was home at night and dealing with her personal demons, it was "a f*****g struggle." She added that she was "being thrown around and manhandled" and had been through "rough" and "disrespectful" relationships. However, Affleck made her see something in herself despite what she went through.

"What he said and what he saw in me, and what he made me believe about myself, only comes from love. Because nobody else could have made me see that about myself. It's very moving," Lopez said while fighting back tears. "Because I didn't think much about myself, and so the world didn't think much of me. That lined up."

"The Greatest Love Story Never Told" streams exclusively on Prime Video.
