Royal Family Member’s Shocking Sudden Death Under Investigation
An inquest into the shocking death of Lady Gabriella Kingston's husband will start this Friday at the coroner's court.
Thomas Henry Robin Kingston, a member of the royal family by marriage, died at Cotswolds on Sunday. He was 45. His surviving family confirmed his passing on Tuesday and described it as a "great shock to the whole family."
The Gloucestershire Police said in a statement to Us Weekly that they were "called by the ambulance service at 6:25 p.m. on Sunday with a report of the death of a 45-year-old man at an address in the Cotswolds."
At the time, "the death [was] not treated as suspicious."
However, a court official told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday that "HM senior coroner for Gloucestershire, Ms Katy Skerrett, will conduct the opening of the inquest into the death of Mr. Thomas Henry Robin Kingston at 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Gloucestershire Coroner's Court."
Thomas Kingston was an "exceptional financier" who married Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth's first cousin Prince Michael of Kent, in May 2019 at Frogmore House -- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former residence.
Talking about her husband in a joint statement with the Kingston family, Lady Gabriella described him as "an exceptional man."
"It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing," the statement read
Per The Standard, Buckingham Palace has also issued a statement saying, "The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas's death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family. In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family."
Before his shocking death, a friend reportedly saw Thomas and his wife at a National Gallery event in London on Feb. 21, according to the Daily Mail.
"They seemed happy and positive as ever. Ella was particularly chatty," the friend noted.
