Travis Kelce's Brother Jason Makes Subtle Reference To Taylor Swift In Retirement Speech
Travis Kelce's older brother, Jason Kelce, just announced his retirement from football.
Jason made a huge announcement on Monday. He announced that after 13 seasons with the Eagles, he would be hanging up his boots. In his retirement speech, Jason stirred the Swifties by making a subtle reference to his brother's superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, as he spoke about his bond with Travis.
"We have a small family. No cousins, one aunt, one uncle. It was really my brother and I, our whole lives," Jason said while holding back his tears.
"We did almost everything together, competed, fought, laughed, cried and learned from each other. We invented games, imagined ourselves as star players of that time. We'd envision making the winning plays day after day on Coleridge Road. We won countless Super Bowls in our minds before ever leaving the house."
Jason shared what they did when they were not playing, how they would cheer for each other during the game and celebrate their victories afterward and how they would offer encouragement to each other after every defeat.
"There is no chance I'd be here without the bond Travis and I share," he continued. "It made me stronger, tougher, smarter and it taught me the values of cooperation, loyalty, patience and understanding. It's only too poetic I found my career being fulfilled in the City of Brotherly Love. I knew that relationship all too well."
Swift's fans immediately reacted after hearing the words "all too well" since it is the title of one of the tracks from her 2012 album "Red." In 2021, the Grammy winner dropped two versions of "All Too Well" for the "Red (Taylor's Version)," and the 10-minute version became a hit. Swift also released the romantic drama short film "All Too Well," starring Dylan O'Brien and Sadie Sink, which immediately garnered millions of views shortly after.
The reference to Swift didn't stop there, when the athlete continued his speech, he said, "You go above and beyond in this city, you will be rewarded beyond your wildest dreams." "Wildest Dreams" is one of the songs on Swift's 2014 album "1989."
Swift's fans immediately reacted, with many concluding the statements were a reference to his possibly future sister-in-law.
"Jason Kelce just quoted 'All too well' in his retirement speech. Love it so much," one wrote on X.
Another added, "Not Jason Kelce adding 'all too well' and 'wildest dreams' to his retirement speech. [H]e loves us."
"WILDEST DREAMS!!? Jason, you're giving the Swifties a heart attack. We love you so much!! Enjoy retirement," a third person exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Travis was as emotional as his brother when the latter spoke about their close relationship in front of the press. Travis was caught on camera wiping his tears as his big brother reflected on their shared goals and journey toward their dreams, E! News reported.
