Two actors will reprise their "The Big Bang Theory" characters in the upcoming series finale of "Young Sheldon" in May.

The show's official Instagram account has announced that Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will reunite and reprise their roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, respectively, for the upcoming series finale of the spinoff prequel.

"BIG news -- @therealjimparsons and Mayim Bialik will reprise their roles of Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in the #YoungSheldon finale! Our lips are sealed until then," the post read.

Parsons and Bialik's last on-screen appearance together dates back to when "The Big Bang Theory" ended in 2019 after 12 seasons, per CinemaBlend.

While Parson is involved in "Young Sheldon" as the narrator and one of the executive producers, it will be his first time appearing on camera for the show. Bialik also did some voiceover work for two previous episodes of the spinoff.

Other information about the "Big Bang Theory" duo's reunion and appearance on the show are yet to be announced.

In other news, the spinoff prequel of "The Big Bang Theory" will have a sequel. Per The Hollywood Reporter, it will focus on Sheldon's older brother Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and his fiancée Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they raise their own family in Texas.

The Warner Bros. TV-produced "Young Sheldon" spinoff will reportedly be a part of CBS' 2024-2025 broadcast season. The show's executive producers, Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland, will work on the upcoming series that has been in development since January.

Another "The Big Bang Theory" spinoff is reportedly being developed by Lorre and Warner Bros. TV for Max, per THR.

"Young Sheldon" is a story about "a brilliant yet awkward 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper" who lands in high school, leaving everyone stumped with his smarts, per Netflix's description of the series.

This "The Big Bang Theory" spinoff prequel begins in the timeline of 1989, following Sheldon's early life as a child prodigy in the fictional town of Medford, Texas.

Its main cast includes Iain Armitage as young Sheldon, Zoe Perry as his mother, Mary, and Lance Barber as his father, George. Jordan and Raegan Revord play the roles of Sheldon's older brother, Georgie, and younger sister, Missy, respectively.

The show premiered in September 2017. After seven years and seven seasons, "Young Sheldon" will end and release its season finale on May 16 on CBS.
