Meghan Markle Admired Ivanka Trump; Wanted To Be Like Her, Royal Author Once Claimed
Meghan Markle is a fan of Ivanka Trump, according to a royal expert.
Markle just launched her new business, American Riviera Orchard, which many outlets, including Page Six, Tatler and Daily Mail, deemed the second version of her defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig, even calling it The Tig 2.0.
In Markle's previous blog, she shared her conversations with different women. Tom Bower, former BBC journalist and an investigative reporter, wrote in his 2022 book "Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors," that among the ladies Markle interviewed was the former first daughter, Ivanka. Bower claimed that Markle gushed over Donald Trump's daughter in one entry.
"Staggeringly beautiful, no question, but so incredibly savvy and intelligent that she's not just carved a niche for herself under her father's famed Trump notoriety, she has undoubtedly created her own empire," Markle reportedly wrote in 2014, Page Six reported.
"It's so easy to knock the girls who come from privilege -- to assume they rested on their laurels and garnered accolades simply by being fancy from the womb," she continued.
"But I always remember Ivanka being different -- she wasn't dancing on tables as a teenager or releasing pop albums. She wasn't running amok publicly, swearing and being smacked with DUIs. Instead, she was graduating from The Wharton School (cum laude, I might add), launching the Trump Hotel Collection and building her own brand."
Markle had an email exchange with the businesswoman who once had her own line of perfume, shoes and bags while helping her dad run the Trump property empire. Their exchange left Markle gushing, and she even implied that she wanted to be like Ivanka by copying her drinks.
"When we have drinks, I will make sure I order whatever she does -- because this woman seems to have the formula for success (and happiness) down pat," Markle continued.
The Duchess of Sussex praised Ivanka because "she does it all." Prince Harry's wife also lauded Ivanka's ability to straddle "the line between letting yourself go or looking like you just stepped off a runway (or at least had the time to put some lipstick on)."
In 2016, Ivanka's father was elected as the president of the United States, and she served as an aide in the White House. However, Markle was not a fan of Ivanka's dad, and she even called him "divisive" and "misogynistic." In response, Trump said he didn't know the former "Suits" star was "nasty."
