Bruce Springsteen has resumed his tour in Arizona, but many netizens felt he looked different upon seeing a photo of him from his latest concert.

The "Born to Run" musician postponed some of his shows due to peptic ulcer. On Tuesday, he returned to the stage. In the snaps obtained by the New York Post from the event, the 74-year-old American singer-songwriter and guitarist rocked a half-buttoned red flannel and dark jeans.

The outlet noted that he appeared pale. His white hair also gave him a more pallid complexion. Several netizens reacted to his recent sighting, with many saying that he looked different, and they likened his appearance to actress Tilda Swinton and retired professional soccer player Megan Rapinoe.

"Tilda Swinton in character as Megan Rapinoe. I've been trying to figure out why Bruce is exposing his breasts in that fashion," one commented. Another added, "Megan Rapinoe retired to be Bruce's stand-in performer."

"He is definitely morphing into Tilda!" a third person opined.

"It's Hard to be Tilda Swinton in the City," a different user wrote.

A fifth commenter said, "he looks like Megan Rapinoe," with laughing emojis.

Meanwhile, some netizens defended the musician. According to them, the photo was captured in an unflattering angle or light, and Springsteen wasn't that pale and looked great in other pictures.

"It's just an unfortunate photo -- and so clickbait. He looks fine and as himself in the video in the article," one wrote.

Another added, "This pic is doctored. Washed out to make him look pale."

"To be fair, look at other pictures from the night, and he looks a lot more normal," a third person suggested.

In March 2023, Springsteen canceled the shows in Ohio and Connecticut and rescheduled a performance in New York "due to illness." However, E Street guitarist Steven Van Zandt assured fans that there was no cause for concern.

"No need to be anxious or afraid," he said, per Men's Health. "Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon."

In June 2023, Springsteen fell over on stage, and in August of the same year, he canceled two tour dates in Philadelphia. In September 2023, the band announced on its website that all tour dates scheduled that month would be moved because the guitarist was being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer.

In November, Van Zandt admitted they weren't aware of Springsteen's condition. They were as surprised as fans when they learned he had an ulcer.

"I got to tell you the truth, we had no idea how much pain (Bruce Springsteen) was in," Van Zandt told USA Today. "We were just as surprised as everyone else to learn the extent of his illness."
