Kate Middleton Surgery May Have Had Complications, Surgeon Says
A surgeon weighed in on Kate Middleton's disappearance from his medical perspective.
TMZ, which released its new TMZ Investigates documentary "Where Is Kate Middleton?" Thursday night, spoke with Dr. George Crawford and asked for his thoughts on the speculations surrounding the Princess of Wales from his point of view as a surgeon.
According to Dr. Crawford, Kate might have undergone a hysterectomy following her abdominal surgery in January. He said it was not uncommon for other organs to be removed when a patient experiences complications, such as adhesions or scar tissue.
While this was only his theory, the surgeon said it could be one of the possible reasons why the royal was hospitalized for a long time.
Piers Morgan, an English journalist who previously commented on Kate's "manipulated" photo, shared the same sentiment. He reportedly told TMZ that a source he had spoken with claimed that doctors might have found an issue during the princess' planned surgery.
"TMZ Investigates: Where Is Kate Middleton?" premiered on Fox at 9/8c on Thursday.
The TV special dives deep into the questions and theories surrounding Middleton's whereabouts and how the palace has been handling the whole situation.
"Tonight, TMZ takes a hard look at how the palace's controversial handling of the crisis ignited a firestorm of speculation," said journalist Anita Blanton on "Good Day Chicago" ahead of the premiere.
To promote TMZ's newest documentary, the program invited TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin to talk more about the TMZ Investigates documentary.
"Let's talk about the palace's official party line that this was planned abdominal surgery. We went into this with an open mind. Now, I am not buying what the palace is saying at all," Levin said.
He went on to point out an incident that, for him, "makes no sense" -- a video of an ambulance escorted by the police allegedly speeding out of Sandringham, where the royal family reportedly spent Christmas.
"If it's a planned surgery, why is an ambulance taking her there two weeks before? Makes no sense. Why did William only visit her once, as far as we know, in the 13 days she was there?" opined Levin.
The executive producer also cited other incidents that brought about speculations, such as Kate's Mother's Day photo, Kate and Prince William's photo in the car and the recent video of the couple at a farm shop, among many others.
