Kate Middleton's Cancer Diagnosis Could End Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Feud: Royal Expert
Kate Middleton's health could pave the way for her and Prince William's reconciliation with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to royal experts.
Ian Pelham Turner, an international TV broadcaster specializing in royal family, politics and Great Britain promotion, hopes that Middleton's condition would help end the feud between Prince William and Prince Harry. Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis on Friday.
"Talking to experts close to William and Kate, there is no current advocacy for Harry and Meghan to return from the U.K.-end, and the only glimmer of light is that there could be a softening of anger and distress from the two brothers," Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital.
"Reports are coming in that Kate's staff are all in tears with the news, which points to they did not know the extent of the illness. Harry was very close to Kate at one time, calling her 'the sister he always wanted,' and no doubt there will be reaching out by Harry and Meghan to support the family."
Neil Sean, a royal entertainment reporter for NBC News, MSNBC & Access Hollywood and a contributor to numerous daily newspapers, including Daily Mail, Metro and Us Weekly, also weighed in on the royal family's relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after the latest update about the Princess of Wales' health. He said that a reconciliation was possible between the royals and the Sussexes.
"You lean on the closest to you, don't you, and that is the problem," Sean said of William and Harry on "The Story with Martha MacCallum." "I think it's very difficult because Prince William is a very sort of strong, determined person, and he feels incredibly hurt by what has gone on and what has come out directly from his younger brother's mouth."
He noted that Middleton's health condition "changes everything," and it could bridge the gap between the Sussexes and the royals. However, Prince Harry was probably in "limbo" because they would not be welcomed within certain areas of the British monarchy, which was a "terrible shame."
"I think now, what needs to happen is -- and maybe this will be the case -- that this does actually unite the family," Sean said before adding, "But I have not necessarily seen that, if I'm really honest."
Meanwhile, Hilary Fordwich, a corporate speaker and client retention consultant who has been featured on ABC, CNN, Fox Business and NBC, urged Prince Harry to extend an olive branch to his family.
"No money, no fame can ever be as important as the family bond he has broken. Now is the time to make amends," Fordwich told Fox News Digital. "For anyone, a cancer diagnosis is at a minimum shocking, but usually earth-shattering. For him, after having lost his beloved mother at such a tender age, this must be simply beyond the pale. What words can express such a heart-wrenching diagnosis?"
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had already released a statement regarding Middleton's health condition.
"We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace," the Sussexes' spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Prince William's wife and younger brother were very close before the family feud. The three were so inseparable that they were dubbed the "royal trio." Many thought they would become the "fab four" after Prince Harry married Markle, but the two royal couples decided to part ways.
Before Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis, Christopher Andersen, an American journalist and author, said Prince Harry was "concerned about her," but the princess "wants nothing to do with" the Sussexes.
