Family Dollar Store Closings List In Pennsylvania, Mississippi: More Locations Expected To Close Soon
More Family Dollar store locations that are expected to permanently close soon have been revealed this week amid the brand's nationwide closures.
Two weeks after Dollar Tree Inc. announced that it would close down 600 Family Dollar stores this year, locations of those affected are slowly coming up online.
Aside from a list of store closings in Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia, several more are expected to end operations on the East Coast -- at least six in Pennsylvania and 21 in Mississippi.
According to the company, these locations have significantly underperformed in the past year. About 400 more Family Dollar and Dollar Tree stores are expected to shutdown in the next few years.
In Pennsylvania, the six to shutter are all in the Philadelphia area. A WARN notice from the Department of Labor and Industry said the stores will close on April 20, 2024, and about 62 employees will be affected.
