Legal Expert Advises Diddy on Avoiding Arrest: Insights from Former Federal Agent
According to Fox-11, Homeland Security reportedly conducted raids on real estate belonging to Sean "Diddy" Combs in Los Angeles and Miami.
Combs's luxurious residence in Los Angeles, located in the upscale Holmby Hills area, bordering Bel Air and Beverly Hills, and his home in Miami Beach positioned on the exclusive Star Island was raided by authorities on Monday.
Former Federal Agent Myron Gains provided insights into potential strategies for Diddy, 54, to evade arrest during a live stream with DJ Akademiks.
Akademiks, 32, asked Gains, "If you are 'Diddy,' what do you do?"
"Obviously, you are going to secure the best legal counsel that you can," Gains replied. He further emphasized that you would "not say s**t to the police" and "try to obtain copies of any relevant documents," such as search warrants and the affidavit.
Akademiks then asked, "What about if they ask you to come in to talk then?"
Gains then stated that he would attend the interview, but with his lawyer present, "just to see what they are going to ask me and what they know." He further exclaimed that he would not say anything to the authorities in return.
The conversation then turned to the allegations against Russell Simmons, who has faced accusations of sexual assault and misconduct by multiple women dating as far back as 1988.
Akademiks pointed out that amidst his legal troubles, Simmons, 66, has remained a resident in Bali since the allegations gained media and federal attention. Gains quickly informed Akademiks that the United States of America does not have an extradition treaty with Indonesia.
This particular detail significantly complicates the efforts of U.S. prosecutors to apprehend Simmons. However, the former federal agent mentioned that "you can still get somebody out of these countries if you file an MLAT (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty)."

This treaty allows extradition from Indonesia to the United States but is notoriously challenging to enact. Gains goes as far as to label them as "a pain in the a**." This difficulty arises because Indonesia must agree to honor the MLAT, and if accepted, it can take years to execute as governments engage in top-level negotiations.
Diddy maintains his innocence and denies all allegations against him.
