The first trailer of the 2024 reboot of "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" is out but social media users don't seem too excited about the film.

More than 30 years after the original starring Christina Applegate and Joanna Cassidy was released in 1991, the remake is set to hit theaters in April. It will now revolve around Black siblings, The Crandells, who were left in the care of an elderly babysitter, Mrs. Sturak (played by Oscar nominee June Squibb), after their mom goes on a retreat in Thailand.

As the movie title suggests, the kids will find Mrs. Sturak dead -- this is where the mischief, misfortune and adventure starts.

Deciding not to tell their mom, Tanya Crandell (played by Simone Joy Jones) decides to works as an assistant to temperamental fashion executive Rose (played by Nicole Richie) to support her siblings.

"I've been a 'Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead' fan since day one. Having the opportunity to play Rose is a dream come true," Richie told Entertainment Weekly.

While some fans find the reboot nostalgic, a lot of netizens weren't too excited about the movie, voicing out their thoughts on X, formerly Twitter. Some even questioned why BET+ decided to produce the film.

"Didn't expect a remake. Don't think I'll watch it, either," one netizen said.

"This looks horrible," said another user on X.

Another added, "Uhhhh, I prefer the original. Not this..."

However, some users also showed support for the remake.

"I'm really looking forward to this actually," one fan said.

Another X user considered the movie to be a "fun time."

Talking about the film, director Wade Allain-Marcus said the audience can expect a lot of laughs, "heart, the vibe and the music."

"'Don't Tell Mom' has always been about becoming an adult before your time, and we know that's true for all Black kids. Everyone involved in the film brought their A game," Allain-Marcus told EW.

"Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" reboot will hit theaters on April 12.
