Jesse McCartney reflected on his journey in the limelight, expressing gratitude for avoiding major public meltdowns or stressful incidents, something fellow child stars often experience.

"I'm lucky I didn't really have any major public meltdowns or crazy, stressful moments, at least in front of the camera... I've been able to maintain a relatively sane and normal life considering all that has gone on, particularly at that age," he said in an interview with a media outlet.

McCartney, 36, credited his stable support system, saying, "I had a great family and friends, and just a solid foundation of people that I had around me at that time... Of course, there's things I went through that I think any normal teenager would go through, just in a public way, but I don't have any regrets."

"I wouldn't trade any of it," he continued. "And it was well worth it, considering this is many people's dreams as a kid and was definitely mine. So, my dreams came true. It's one of those crazy clichés, but they really did."

McCartney took over Hollywood around the same time as fellow teen sensations Zac Efron and Hayden Panettiere, but the singer has managed to keep a clean image throughout the years.

After leaving the boy band Dream Street for a solo career, he rose to superstardom in 2004 with his debut album "Beautiful Soul" when he was 17.

"Leavin'," a single from his third album "Departure," reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is his best-selling song.

More recently, the singer posted a picture on Instagram of him leaning on a pregnant woman's belly in February, with just a pregnant woman emoji in the caption.

McCartney revealed to E! News the post accompanied his song, "Make a Baby," the second single from his forthcoming EP 'All's Well,' featuring Yung Gravy.

"We knew it would elicit the reaction that it did, cause some commotion on the internet," he clarified.

Although the post was shared to build anticipation, he admits him and his wife Katie Peterson is considering expanding their family.

"That's the path we're traveling down at this moment," he said. "To be clear, we're not pregnant. But it's something we've discussed."

However, while parenthood is on their agenda, McCartney acknowledges the fears about becoming a father. He expressed apprehension about the daunting task of ensuring the well-being of another human being, noting that while they have done well with their dog Bailey, the responsibility of caring for a child far surpasses that of a pet.

Simultaneously, McCartney, who also co-wrote Leona Lewis' smash hit "Bleeding Love," can also imagine all the positive aspects that accompany parenthood.

"I look at a lot of my close friends now that have kids," McCartney stated. "And there's so many special moments that they have. Eventually, that's something I definitely want to have."
