British actor Adrian Schiller, notable for his roles of Mr. Penge in the PBS' historical drama 'Victoria' and Aethelhelm in Netflix's 'The Last Kingdom,' has died.

He was 60.

Schiller's agency, Scott Marshall Partners, confirmed his sudden passing on Thursday.

"He has died far too soon, and we, his family and close friends are devastated by the loss," the statement continued, as reported by The Independent. "A prodigiously talented actor, he had just returned from Sydney, where he had been appearing in The Lehman Trilogy and was looking forward to continuing the international tour in San Francisco."

Schiller's sister, Ginny, shared the heartbreaking news of his death on the actor's X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

She expressed deep sorrow, informing followers that Adrian had passed away unexpectedly at home the previous day. Ginny also extended apologies to friends learning about the news through the platform and mentioned that further details regarding funeral or memorial arrangements would be provided later.

"For now, we're taking things one step at a time, supporting Milena [his partner] and Gabriel [his son] as best we can and trying to get our heads around the unimaginable," she continued. "Please don't send flowers but if anyone wants to make a gesture, we will be setting up Trust for Gabriel and there's a link below."

Ginny also provided a link to a GoFundMe page, titled Gabriel's Trust, urging contributions to support Gabriel and Milena.

Schiller, born on February 21, 1964, enjoyed a successful acting career spanning three decades. The London native made his screen debut in the popular British series 'Prime Suspect' and went on to play diverse roles across various genres.

His television credits include appearances in sitcoms 'The IT Crowd,' crime drama 'Ashes to Ashes,' and supernatural series 'Being Human.' Additionally, he showcased his talent in sci-fi shows like 'Doctor Who,' detective drama 'Endeavour,' and miniseries including 'Man in an Orange Shirt' and 'Van der Valk.'

The agency's statement added: "Our deepest condolences go to his family, who ask for privacy at this most difficult of times."
