‘Reacher’ Star Alan Ritchson Details His Suicide Attempt After Being Sexually Assaulted: 'It All Happened So Fast'
Alan Ritchson sat with The Hollywood Reporter in a candid interview, where he outlined the struggles behind his success.
While the interview highlights the 'Reacher' actor's ever-growing career and his relatively new obsession for tattoos, the former model also detailed his battle with mental health and the sexual assault which would lead to his harrowing suicide attempt.
Ritchson was invited by Donatella Versace to attend Versace's Atelier Runway show at Paris Fashion Week in 2014. Just like that, he described how the glamorous occasion quickly turned to a nightmare flashback.
During the VIP dinner, Ritchson was sat next to famous Hollywood photographer Mario Testino, known for shooting A-list celebs including Beyoncé, Kylie Jenner, and Taylor Swift.

"He wouldn't keep his hands off me," Ritchson claimed to the media outlet. "The entire time we were sitting at dinner, he was trying to rub my crotch under the table."
"I lived that life with people like you where you feel like you can just have anybody. I'm not an object to you. I'm way past that now, dude. But he was entertained by it. He thought it was the funniest thing," he alleged.
The 41-year-old explained that his rejection purportedly only made Testino more aggressive, begging him to come over and even offered him a cover on 'Vogue' magazine in exchange for sleeping with him.
"I don't give a s**t about the cover of 'Vogue.' I don't give a s**t about whatever opportunity you want to dangle in front of me," he said, vehemently declining.
The actor was also blindsided with a harsh sexual ultimatum after filming the successful 'Dark Web: Cicada 3301,' recalling driving a female partner to her luxury hotel before she urged Ritchson to "come to her room." He recalled how the woman would tell TMZ he sexually assaulted her if he declined.
Sinking into overwork and depression, Ritchson remembered using a green extension cord from his attic, wrapping it around rafters, then around his neck, and letting go. The actor explained that seeing his sons in a future vision saved his life.
"They calmly asked me not to do it, and told me that they wanted me to be here, alive and part of their lives," he said.
The actor credits divine intervention for the vision and time doing "a million pull-ups" which helped him pull himself up before blacking out. Ritchson has been open about mental health ever since.
Today he has a packed schedule, starring in 'Ordinary Angels' alongside 'Million Dollar Baby' star Hillary Swank, which was released in February. He is set to star in the upcoming film, 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,' with Henry Cavill and Henry Golding.
"I try to keep my eyes fixed on opportunities to serve others," he told THR. "It's faith, family, mental health, business practices, all of it is sort of prioritized in the right way that it can work together well in concert."
