Meghan Markle 'Sending A Message' To Cancer-Stricken Kate Middleton During Hospital Visit, Fashion Expert Claims
Meghan Markle wants to move on from the issues between her and Kate Middleton, according to a fashion expert who examined the former's outfit during her latest sighting.
The Duchess of Sussex visited the Children's Hospital Los Angeles on March 21. For the outing, she wore a $3,500 Oscar de la Renta shirt dress with long cuffed sleeves. The floral ensemble was allegedly a message to her sick sister-in-law, according to Amber Graafland, the fashion and beauty director for Mirror, who analyzed Markle's wardrobe this week.
"The Royal Family are renowned for using their clothing to convey subtle messages," Graafland told The Sun's Fabulous. "And Meghan has learned to be adept at using her clothes to shift perspectives."
The expert was convinced that Prince Harry's wife chose the outfit for a purpose. She allegedly didn't wear it just to brighten up the day of the kids but also to send a message to the Princess of Wales.
"The Duchess was clearly sending a message with her floral ensemble," Graafland added. "Synonymous with purity, optimism and friendship, flowers represent growth and bloom. And rather poignantly, flowers symbolize forgiveness."
The fashion pro then asked, "Could Meghan be extending an olive branch to sister in-law Kate?"
Graafland acknowledged Markle's new chapter as the duchess had just launched her new business, American Riviera Orchard. The fashion expert claimed the former actress may have wanted to put the past behind her amid her latest venture.
"There is no doubt that Meghan is keen to put events of the past few years behind her," Graafland said.
The Duchess of Sussex first used the Oscar de la Renta floral dress when she visited the United Kingdom in the summer of 2022 with Prince Harry and their two children -- Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2 -- for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Meanwhile, Middleton, who announced her cancer diagnosis last month, is known for recycling outfits.
The two duchesses have been pitted against each other since Markle joined the royal family. However, the falling out worsened when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from their royal duties, moved to the United States and released their Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare."
Markle also denied the reports that she made Middleton cry in her interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Instead, the "Suits" actress claimed that "the reverse happened."
When the future queen announced her cancer battle, several hoped it would put an end to the feud between the Sussexes and the royal family. However, sources close to the Waleses said Prince William and Middleton do not have plans to reconcile after what the Sussexes did to them.
