Katy Perry 'Roar:' New Single Sounds A Lot Like Sara Bareilles' 'Brave' [LISTEN, AUDIO]
After audio leaked of Katy Perry's new single Roar, many fans noted similarities between the track and Sara Bareilles' recent hit, Brave. (Listen to both tracks below.)
Perry herself tweeted praise for Brave on May 16 of this year. "I heart you @Sarabareilles," Perry wrote on Twitter, with a link to Bareilles' music video.
"OMG everyone go listen to Brave by Sara Bareilles and then listen to Katy Perry's new song Roar! SHE STOLE SARA'S SON," one fan tweeted this weekend.
Another fan followed up, admitting: "Sara's #Brave is better than Katy's #Roar in lyrically, musically, and vocally."
After fans took to Twitter, Bareilles appeared to comment on the similar tunes.
"All love, everybody. All love," she wrote on Aug. 10.
On Saturday, Perry's anticipated single leaked. So by Sunday, she scrapped plans for the song's very public unveiling at New York radio station Z100 and announced that it would be available for download at iTunes.
On Monday, Aug. 12, Perry made a visit to the Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo radio show in New York City.
“NEW YORKERS. MEET ME at 8:30AM AT 32 AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU. #ROAR” Katy tweeted the night before.
