Princess Rajwa And Crown Prince Hussein Expecting Their First Baby Less Than A Year After Royal Wedding
The eldest child of King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan is stepping into a fresh royal responsibility: becoming a father!
Princess Rajwa and Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan are expecting their first baby! The Royal Hashemite Court revealed the pregnancy announcement on Wednesday.
"The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein are expecting their first baby this summer," they shared in the statement. "The Royal Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this occasion and wishes Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa good health and joy as they welcome their baby."
The joyous pregnancy announcement was shared on social media alongside a radiant snapshot of the 29-year-old Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, taken following their union on June 1, 2023.
This impending arrival marks the first grandchild for Queen Rania, 53, and King Abdullah, 62.
As reported by Gerts Royals, the newest member of the royal family will be bestowed with the titles of His/Her Royal Highness and Prince/Princess.
A male child will ascend to the second position in the succession line for the throne of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Per the nation's constitution, ratified in 1952, the throne follows a hereditary system within the dynasty of King Abdullah Ibn Al-Hussein, passing linearly from the reigning king to his eldest son, and so forth. In the event of the child being a female, there will be no alteration to the succession order.
Presently, Crown Prince Hussein is the heir to the throne, succeeded by his younger sibling, Prince Hashem. Queen Rania and King Abdullah also share parenthood with daughters Princess Iman and Princess Salma.
