Crystal Renay Admits That Ne-Yo’s Breakfast Club Interview Revealed His Infidelity
Ex-wife of 'Sexy Love' singer Ne-Yo, Crystal Renay revealed how she suspected him of stepping out of their marriage after watching an interview he did with The Breakfast Club.
According to the actress, the singer's overly accepting perspective on cheating made her suspicious, which she and the co-hosts agreed was a form of "projecting."
When co-host Jess Hilarious inquired about "where they were" together during an interview last week, she responded that she was "at peace" and that she's at a "good place" in her life.
"What was the decision that made you say, 'Okay, enough is enough' ", co-host DJ Envy asked.
"Well what's funny is, it was the Breakfast Club," she exclaimed with a partial smirk. Charlamagne Tha God can be heard asking, "Why, why, why" in the background as the co-hosts were collectively shocked by her response.
Renay, 38, detailed that someone sent her the video of her then-husband explaining that he wouldn't want to know if his partner was cheating, saying he would "Live in a blissful bubble of ignorance."
"The truth is rarely pretty, and in this life you have to choose your happy. So I choose to believe the truth that makes me happy, as opposed to searching for the ugly truth that's going to mess up my happiness, " Ne-Yo, 44, explained in an old interview clip.

The 'Bold and Bougie' star knew based on their relationship that the singer wouldn't want it the other way around and quickly grew suspicious of his overly-positive answer, resulting in her searching through his phone.
"With me, he has little jealousy in him, so I know that he would never be okay with me doing that. I was like, 'Hmm, something ain't right,' " Renay said, referring to a gut-feeling she had.
Jess Hilarious claimed the two were like "best friends" and explained that she was surprised it didn't work out. Regarding him coming clean, Renay said "he didn't have a choice."
The pair had three children prior to finalizing their divorce in January 2023; Shaffer Chimere Jr., 8, Roman Alexander-Raj, 6, and Isabella Rose, 3.
