California Bar Owner Slams Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila For Ruining AC/DC Mural: 'Stop Taking Advantage'
Kendall Jenner and her 818 Tequila brand are being slammed after her promotion team allegedly caused damage to a mural in California.
According to the Daily Mail, Jenner's team is being accused of destroying the beloved AC/DC "Mists of Time" mural, which is painted across the side of a local bar in Indio, California, called Club 5.
The promo sign was stuck to the entirety of the wall with the reported intent of promoting a pop-up event which took place last week. However, once the sign was removed, signs of cracks and chips in the art was evident.
One of the owners of the bar, Randy Franco, claimed the supermodel's team ruined the mural.

Despite Franco's concern, the media outlet claims sources close to Jenner, 28, confirmed that both Franco and his mother were aware that the mural could possibly be damaged or even destroyed, even signing a contract agreeing to that.
The press release presented by Club 5 bar on Instagram — which Tequila 818 was tagged in — expresses their immense concern for their mural, stating the artwork has been a "cherished symbol" for their patrons" and served as a "tribute to AC/DC's monumental impact."
"This act, perpetrated by Kendall Jenner's 818 Tequila in collaboration with Revolution Marketing, constitutes a blatant disregard for the legacy of one of the greatest rock bands of all time and demonstrates a lack of respect for our community," the bar wrote.
The bar shared an additional repost, with a caption that wrote "@KendallJenner do better & stop taking advantage of small local businesses."

In response to 818 Tequila's claims, the owner claimed he gave permission to Jenner's team to use the wall under the condition that they use a protective layer which would prevent damage to the mural underneath.
Per the Mail, he alleges the team failed to protect the mural and chose instead to stick the promo directly to the wall using an adhesive, causing damage to the art upon removal.
818 Tequila, named after Jenner's area code for Calabasas in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles where she was raised, was produced by Kendall Jenner in 2021.
Since its launch, the star-studded tequila brand has hosted pop-up events both locally and internationally.
