Meghan Markle has been compared to Martha Stewart, but the latter is reportedly not happy with the comparison, according to a report.

Markle announced her personal brand, American Riviera Orchard, a few weeks ago. According to reports, the brand will sell crockery, serving ware, table linens and more. She just unveiled its first product -- a collection of jams. The Duchess of Sussex will also have a cooking show on Netflix.

Markle's latest business ventures sparked a comparison with Stewart. While the American businesswoman and writer had previously said polite things about the former actress, she was allegedly not thrilled about Markle following in her footsteps, according to an insider.

"Martha has seen hundreds of Meghan types come and go -- and says they all come in with the same self-inflated hype, only to find out it's a whole new ball game when it comes down to brass tacks," the unnamed source told In Touch.

"She's tired of being quizzed by people over how she feels about Meghan's venture because, honestly, it's irritating and insulting to her that she's being compared to a rookie!"

Stewart is allegedly ready to compete with Markle. The "Martha Stewart Show" host was reportedly not sure about Markle's success and "won't hold back in trying to take her down."

"Martha spent decades building her brand from a foundation of raw talent, hands-on hard work and an original vision. If Meghan thinks she can come along and replicate that with barely any experience simply because she's married to a prince, she better think again," the source continued.

"Martha doesn't put a whole lot of faith in her succeeding. But if she does prove to be any competition, Martha won't hold back in trying to take her down. She's still just as competitive as she's ever been!"

In March, Stewart had an interview with Extra's Billy Bush during the Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival. Bush mentioned that Markle wanted to be like her, and the domestic lifestyle innovator said she was "flattered."

"Megan Markle has said that she wants to become a brand like Martha Stewart: 'I want to be like Martha,' she said," Bush told Stewart.

"I just read that today," Stewart replied. "Well, I'm flattered."

Bush then asked Stewart what advice she could give to the actress-turned-businesswoman.

"Produce good products that work and will help the homemaker have a nicer life. That's what it's all about," Stewart said.

However, the insider claimed that Stewart is always critical of anyone who crosses her path. For instance, there's Gwyneth Paltrow, who founded the wellness and lifestyle brand Goop. In 2014, Stewart said that the actress should have stuck into acting.

"She just needs to be quiet. She's a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart," Stewart told Net-a-Porter's Porter magazine, per Page Six.

Stewart was also allegedly catty to TV chef Rachael Ray and talk show host Kelly Clarkson.

"She plays nice for the cameras -- but behind the scenes she's vicious," the insider claimed.

Enstarz could not independently verify the claims made by the insider.
