Plastic surgeons weighed in on some celebrities' weight loss journeys and pointed out how they appeared to have "Ozempic face," according to a report.

Several personalities in Hollywood have reportedly turned to Ozempic, a diabetes drug, to help them shed extra pounds. However, among the side effects after losing a dramatic amount of weight are sunken eyes, gaunt cheeks and saggy facial skin, which experts now collectively refer to as "Ozempic face," the Daily Mail reported.

"Ozempic face is essentially the same characteristics that we see when patients have rapid or regular weight loss," Dr. Smita Ramanadham, a plastic surgeon in New Jersey, told the outlet.

"We see a loss of volume in the face, and when we lose fat in the face, we see signs like the cheeks are more sunken in, more sagging skin and a general hollowing out of the features. Sometimes, it can have the effect of actually making a person look older -- because the fat in our cheeks is what gives us a more youthful look."

Ramanadham, Dr. Sue Decotiis, a weight loss expert, and Dr. Nicholas Jones, a plastic surgeon in Georgia, were shown photos of 15 celebrities with dramatic weight loss journeys. They then commented on the transformations of the celebrities, noting if they had Ozempic face or not.

Scott Disick, who is heavily rumored to be on Ozempic, was on the list. The surgeons pointed out the sunken areas in his eyes. However, they also acknowledged that it was unusual for Ozempic to cause such a dramatic change in appearance, so other factors could have been at play.

They also ranked Robbie Williams as among those with an Ozempic face. Ramanadham said the hollowing under his eyes and cheeks and the appearance of more wrinkles due to the loss of volume were apparent as direct results of his weight loss.

"He looks like a totally different person! He has a longer face, which means the weight loss is definitely making him look very drawn," Decotiis added.

Among women, they said Sharon Osbourne, 71, and Jessica Simpson, 43, had Ozempic faces. Simpson's photos taken in 2020 and 2023 showed the changes in her appearance. She had more sunken cheeks in her latest photo.

Osbourne was reportedly the most dramatic example of Ozempic face. She admitted to losing 42 pounds by taking the drug for diabetes and "couldn't stop losing weight."

"Her eyes look more sunken in, her cheeks have more hollowing," Ramanadham said. "There is a significant loss in facial volume as well, and more wrinkling that is associated with it."

Jones agreed, pointing out how her face was "much fuller and has more volume" in her picture before her weight loss.

"When I look at the later photo, her eyes, her face, [are] more sunken, her cheeks are not as full. Her face looks a little emaciated, actually, like she has been starving," Jones said.

Other celebrities they examined were John Goodman, Jesse Plemons and Liam Payne. The experts noticed how Goodman drastically lost facial volume and had more loose skin and wrinkles.

Ramanadham said she hadn't heard any news about the 71-year-old being on Ozempic. She also noted that the signs they saw on Goodman, who lost 200 pounds, were "very typical of overall weight loss regardless of whether weight loss drugs were used."

Plemons also noticeably lost weight, but he attributed it to intermittent fasting. It wasn't clear in the report if the experts considered Plemons as among those having an Ozempic face.

Meanwhile, they didn't think Ozempic was behind Payne's new look. His reduced facial features were reportedly more likely due to buccal fat removal surgery since his chiseled features suggested he had not gone through a significant weight loss like the others.

"When someone loses a lot of weight, they can end up with a lot of loose skin. But this isn't the case with Liam," Jones said.
