Kevin Hart Reveals His Real Height: With Sneakers vs. With Boots
Kevin Hart's height has been the subject of jokes from both his co-stars and himself. Finally, the actor has set the record straight on his stature.
Hart sat down with Anderson Cooper for the Sunday episode of CBS' "60 Minutes" where he talked about his career, past controversies, his net worth and his real height.
"GQ said you're 5'5", the L.A. Times says you're 5'4", and some other place said you were 5'2"," Cooper asked the 44-year-old actor.
"Well, that place is bulls**t," Hart quickly responds, leaving the host laughing.
"GQ finally got it right ... [I'm] 5-foot-5, like with a shoe on, like a sneaker. Now, if I put a boot on, I can get to 5'5″ and a half."
Google might be included in those "some other place" Cooper mentioned, as a quick search about Hart's height will show he's listed at just 5'2".
However, Hart doesn't mind all the chatter surrounding his small stature. In fact, it has been a part of his comedy routine for over 20 years. Including in his Netflix special, "Don't F**k This Up."
"It's talking about the things that you aren't afraid to laugh at about yourself," he explained.
"I'm really confident that the laugh that I'm getting, you're not laughing necessarily at me as if I'm a joke. You're laughing at the experience. I'm giving you an experience through a story that is relatable."
Hart added that his jokes are often things people think about but "don't have the heart to say."
Cooper also asked about the "Jumanji" actor's net worth and whether he's hit billionaire status. Celebrity Net Worth places Kevin Hart's net worth at $450 million.
While the comedian initially made light of the question -- "None of your business. Man, are you trying to get me robbed?" -- he did note that what he's doing transcends the financial benefits.
"I think the better side to what I've done is create what can become the new norm for other people in the business of funny, for other people in the business of entertainment, right?" Hart explained.
"Not just being a part of the business, but learning and understanding how to be the business."
