Netizens slammed Kanye West for claiming that he is "god."

The 46-year-old rapper recently appeared as the first guest on Justin Laboy's new podcast, "The Download," which was shown exclusively on Yeezy's website. During their conversation, Ye made a controversial claim that he "is god" and that he "run[s] the world."

"We are the kingdom, and I am the head of the kingdom. I am god. No one can suggest s**t to me, period...Imma just tell you some real simple s**t: God runs the world. I am god. I run the world. Let me make that very clear," he claimed.

This specific part of the interview was clipped and posted by The Shade Room on Instagram, and it has since gained over 4.8 million views. Netizens and some big names quickly shared their thoughts on Ye's claims in the comments section.

"It was really nice knowing you, bro," commented actor and R&B singer Tyrese.

"He [definitely] trolled you all with that gospel album, and you all ate it up," wrote Lauren Speed-Hamilton.

"How did you come from praising God to you being god? Bro, don't play with God," said Chanel Ayan of "The Real Housewives of Dubai."

"Oh, he crossed the line with this one," commented a netizen.

"So he made them gospel songs for himself?" quipped someone else.

"Kanye, no. Sit this one out," opined a different commenter.

"When he started this blasphemy [was] when I stopped being able to enjoy his music. I can't play like that," said another netizen.

"This ain't even funny... It's sad. VERY SAD," a different person stated.

Meanwhile, others presented different interpretations of what West was trying to say in the interview.

"Everyone is the god of themselves. That's all he really be saying. He just believes in himself," claimed one netizen.

"We are all made in God's image. God is within us, therefore we are god to an extent. Once that connection is made and you become one with the creator, you'll operate at a higher frequency. [If you know, you know]," commented actor-rapper Rob Kazi.

"Let's not judge or be too harsh on Kanye. This appears to be grandiosity likely during a manic episode, which can be seen in people diagnosed with Bipolar disorder (something he has been diagnosed with since 2016). Let's just pray he gets the help he needs," wrote a doctor named Emeka Okorocha.
