Donald Trump greeted his wife, Melania Trump, on her birthday, but she was likely not impressed, according to her former aide.

Stephanie Grisham, the former Trump administration secretary, communications director and chief of staff, commented on how the former first lady must have felt after her husband gave her a shoutout on her 54th birthday amid his criminal hush money trial. He also shared a two-minute video on Truth Social highlighting Melania's time as the U.S. first lady to mark the event. Grisham was convinced that Melania was not pleased with what the former president did.

"You know, I rolled my eyes when he did that. It was it was so beyond inappropriate, but yet so Donald Trump that on the way into a trial where they are talking about alleged affairs, not one but two that he had that he's wishing his wife a happy birthday," Grisham told CNN when asked about Trump's birthday greetings for his wife.

"She and I talked before, you know, before about how they actually weren't really birthday people that that wasn't a big deal to either of them, which I think is pretty normal for a lot of married couples that have been together for a long time."

Grisham claimed that Trump gave a shoutout not for his wife but to allegedly "try and get voters." Trump was reportedly aware that Melania was a "very, very popular first lady" and people liked her, so he made a sweet gesture to win the suburban women.

"And this was just a performance for them, had nothing to do with her," Grisham alleged. "It didn't surprise me at all. I'm sure she [Melania] rolled her eyes, too. Because it was just so typical, selfish Donald Trump."

Melania reportedly had a "low-key" birthday celebration with her 18-year-old son Barron and dad, Viktor Knavs. An unnamed source said that the ex-FLOTUS was still grieving the passing of her mom, Amalija Knavs. Melania announced her mother's death in January after looking after the latter in the hospital. It's her first birthday without her mom.

"She is still suffering the loss of her mother, and this birthday is difficult in that respect," the source said.
