Eminem's Fans Fear Rapper Is Retiring After Announcing New Album 'The Death of Slim Shady'
Eminem is dropping a new album, but his fans fear it could be his last, according to a report.
Eminem, born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, announced shortly after his appearance at the NFL draft that he would release another album. The 51-year-old rapper's new album is called "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)," the New York Post reported.
It will reportedly be the follow-up to his surprise 2020 album "Music to Be Murdered By," which landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The record featured the hit song "Godzilla," which reached No. 3 on the Hot 100.

Eminem also shared a clip teasing the upcoming album on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday night. The teaser followed the format of a true crime show documentary.
"Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies," a true-crime reporter says in the clip.
Eminem's longtime associate, 50 Cent, also appears in the clip, saying, "He's not a friend; he's a psychopath."
"The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady," the reporter adds.

Eminem also appears in the video. His face is initially blurred out, but he moves and exposes himself quickly.
"I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim," he says.
The video received several reactions from fans, with many speculating that it's probably the last album from the "Real Slim Shady" rapper.
"This could be the final Eminem album. If it is, hopefully, it's got like 30 songs on it," one commented with a screenshot of the word "coup de grace," which means "a final blow or shot given to kill a wounded person or animal."
"Please don't be the last album," another wrote with multiple face with crying tears emoji.
A third person said, "We're here for whatever it is!"
"Is the curtain closing?" a different commenter asked.
Another fan replied, "Possibly, the album does seem like it plus the fact he actually announced it too when [you] just dropped [your] last 2 albums kinda randomly is def a bit concerning. Depending on how they market it imo (Since they announced it this time, they'll prob market it)."
Meanwhile, many also expressed their excitement for Eminem's upcoming album. It has been four years since Eminem dropped his 11th studio album, "Music to Be Murdered By," on Jan. 17, 2020.
"Slim Shady is back!!! This is the version of Eminem we've been waiting on!" a fan wrote.
Another added, "I love it."
"We won. The goat has put a timeframe on his return. Now we wait," a different user stated.
Eminem's "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)" will be out this summer.
