SZA Tweeted Rihanna And Ciara Couldn't ‘Hold A Note Worth A Damn’ Years Before Working With One Of Them
Fans on Twitter, now known as X, uncovered an old tweet from SZA where she blasted Ciara and Rihanna's vocal abilities.
Last year, the "Snooze" singer shared how "frustrated" she was after learning her label, Top Dawg Ent., gave her song to Rihanna, which became "Consideration." The track was recorded by the Barbadian singer, 36, and appeared on her eighth studio album 'Anti' (2016).
According to 'Vulture,' the track was originally meant for SZA's debut album, 'Ctrl' (2017), with the title "LouAnne Johnson," which was inspired by and named after Michelle Pfeiffer's character in 'Dangerous Minds' (1995).
SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, tweeted on April 24: "Pretending someone is wack. Or untalented cause you don't like them personally is so lame to me lmao . U gotta Get that hater shit up out cha spirit."
A fan responded to her tweet with an alleged screenshot from the singer from 2011 where she said Ciara, 38, and Rihanna can't "hold a note worth a damn."
The platinum-selling artist went on to sing on "Consideration" with the mother of two.
SZA, 34, reportedly addressed the old tweet before, admitting she was being petty when she dissed the two singers publicly.
She has also made tweets about other female artists throughout the years on the platform.
"Beyonce lookin more and more like Madonna every day! Coulda swore she was black at one point," SZA tweeted in a now-deleted post in 2015.
The St. Louis native also posted about Nicki Minaj's purported competition, tweeting: "Nicki got a problem commin up FAST," referring to Iggy Azalea. The tweet has also since been deleted.
In other SZA news, the four-time Grammy winner and KeKe Palmer are set to star in an untitled buddy comedy movie from TriStar Pictures, with producer Isaa Rae producing. According to Deadline, the movie marks SZA's acting debut.
Palmer, 30, and SZA teamed for 'Saturday Night Live' when Palmer hosted and SZA was the musical guest in December 2022.
