'The Bold And The Beautiful' Star Kimberlin Brown Admits Killing Off Her Character 'Was A Hard Pill' After Shocking Return
Kimberlin Brown returned to "The Bold and The Beautiful" after her character was seemingly killed off.
An episode in February showed Brown's character, Sheila Carter, getting stabbed to death by Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). But it turns out Sheila is still alive after Brown made her shocking onscreen return recently. Speaking about her character's reappearance on the soap, Brown admitted she found it hard when she first learned her character would get killed off.
"Brad [Bell] called me upstairs to talk to me about what he had in mind for Sheila. It was a hard pill for me to swallow," Brown told Deadline about her reaction when she was told that Sheila would die. "It had been years of playing Sheila, and I consider her my baby, so to speak. And that was definitely not news I was anticipating or hoping to receive."
The actress, however, was relieved and thrilled when her character was brought back to life. She admitted she was surprised after learning that she would return to the show.
"I didn't see this coming, quite honestly," Brown said after learning that Sheila is still alive.
Bell, the head writer, was reportedly "very vague" about what would happen to her character. He reportedly told her he was working on something, but Brown didn't have the guts to ask what it was.

"He was like, 'Okay, I'm working on something. I don't know what it is.' And I said, 'Okay.' Talk about a roller coaster," she continued.
"The only thing I can think of is maybe it's because of my fans, maybe everyone who was commenting, who made everything go viral. Brad does listen. He does pay attention, and in my opinion, I truly believe that my following and my fans and the people who have loved to hate Sheila all these years are responsible for me coming back."
When asked if Bell could change his mind, Brown said she wasn't sure because she just does her part and let the others do their jobs. She was reportedly not one of those who would go upstairs to question the writers about their characters.
"I let them do their job, and I do my job. It's not my place to question why decisions are made the way that they are," Brown said. "I'm just very, very happy that he chose to bring me back. It surprised me when he told me how he was doing this, and he had to put a lot of research into the backstory to make this current story happen."
Meanwhile, many "B&B" fans said they were not surprised by the twist. Apparently, they felt that Sheila wasn't going away for good.
"She never left. We heard her name almost every dam (sic) day it would be a surprise if she STAYED AWAY FOREVER," one commented.
Another added, "Wait, what, we're supposed to be surprised? #BoldandBeautiful."
"There are no words 2 describe the utter disappointment in this writing. There was not ONE viewer who believed Sheila was really dead. What a waste of time, resources, money & all things that go into producing filler fluff. Welcome back @KimberlinBrown. Sheila deserved better," a third commenter said.
"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs weekdays on CBS.
