Tyrese Slams Ex-Wife Norma Mitchell For 'Extortion, Death Threats' And 'Blackmail:' 'I’ve Got Nothing To Lose'
Tyrese is sharing new disturbing allegations about his ex-wife.
The singer took to Instagram early Wednesday posting a photo carousel of headlines about him and his ex Norma Mitchell.
One screenshot read: "Tyrese Wants Monthly Child Support Payments To Ex-Wife Norma Mitchell Reduced Until She Settles Alleged $25,000 Tuition Debt." Another photo's headline read: "Tyrese Gibson Accuses Ex-Wife Of 'Death Threats' & Other Serious Allegations."
Tyrese, 45, wrote in the caption how he is "done living my life in fear of what she might accuse me of next... I'm done with anyone having power over my life to make ALL THAT I HAVE BUILT crumble."
"Did you tell my ex to be more private in 2017 when her accusations rocked my life, my career, my marriage and every opportunity imaginable that was in motion was killed instantly? After a FULL TRIAL in 2017 with her testifying over 120 LIES was documented UNDER OATH...Did you shame her into silence? No!," he wrote in the Instagram caption.
The 'Fast & Furious' actor continued: "Extortion, death threats, blackmail, tax evasion, domestic and international wire fraud, skipping 3 FULL YEARS of tuition of our daughter's schooL OVER 25k in the rears 167 pages of the full on court documents link in bio ] ...25 years of my life and me being a committed father.... No one will EVER HAVE POWER over my life and career.... Ever."
Tyrese and Mitchell married on December 2, 2007. They share one daughter together Shayla, 16. The pair divorced in August 2009, and their custody battle has been public ever since.
Reports state that the Los Angeles, California, native filed a motion to change the parameters of their child support agreement due to the alleged hefty debt Mitchell incurred. In the filing, the "Sweet Lady" singer claimed Mitchell racked up $25,605.50 after allegedly failing to pay her portion of their daughter's tuition fees from the "academic years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025."
According to The Jasmine Brand, Tyrese also wants Mitchell to pay back $1,500 in court-ordered family sanctions that were reportedly due in 2021, with interest.
Three months before addressing his issues with Mitchell, The Blast reported Tyrese was sued by his second ex-wife, Samantha Lee. She accused him of failing to pay child support for their daughter Soraya.
"I am done with living in fear... I got 1 TYRESE," he concluded his Instagram rant. "Just 1.. and I am going to protect my name and legacy and family until I take my last breath."
