T.J. Holmes Accused Of Stealing A Phone During A JetBlue Flight: ‘Sorry Doesn't Cut It'
T.J. Holmes was recently accused of stealing a traveler's cell phone during a flight to Los Angeles.
While flying on JetBlue, the former news anchor told listeners of the 'Amy & T.J.' podcast that they were minding their business when a woman — four rows in front of them — told an attendant that Holmes took her phone.
When the flight attendant addressed Holmes, 46, asking if he'd seen a cellphone, he responded: "Oh no, I didn't see anything."
"I was using the bathroom up front right next to the cockpit," Holmes began. "I come out, and there's a flight attendant standing there with this little old lady," the journalist explained, mentioning the woman was "white" with "dirty blond hair."
"She's standing there and the flight attendant asks, 'Did you see a phone in there?' and I immediately turned around and said, 'Oh, no. I didn't see anything,'" he claimed, per Page Six.
Holmes claims the woman didn't buy his denial, and began moving in his direction with the purported intention of patting him down to see for herself.
"'Oh, you don't have it?'" he recalled her asking. "In front of the plane...she flat out accuses me of taking her phone," the podcast host explained. "And she is a short lady so I actually crouched down, put my hands on my knees and got down on her level and I say, 'Ma'am are you telling me I took your phone?' "
The former CNN correspondent said a passenger found the missing phone "in her [own] seat," gesturing to Holmes her apologies, saying she was "mortified screaming across the five rows, 'I'm so sorry!' "

Long-time partner of Holmes, Amy Robach, chimed in: "Sorry doesn't cut it at that point," to which Holmes agreed.
Robach, 51, and Holmes went public with their "secret" romance back in November 2022. Despite their self-proclaimed love and commitment, the two — who both anchored on 'Good Morning America' — agreed marriage may not be in the cards for them, per WHAS-11.
"We're still deciding about what that level of commitment is... like, whether it's legal or not... but mentally, emotionally, we've absolutely agreed to commit to one another," Robach said. "We haven't figured the marriage thing out yet."
