Tyrese Gibson's Ex-Wife Seeks Restraining Order; 'Fast & Furious' Actor Says He's 'Living In Fear' Of Her
Tyrese Gibson and his ex-wife Norma Mitchell are still embroiled in a legal battle 15 years after their divorce.
The exes were married between 2007 and 2009. They share one daughter, Shayla, 16. However, Mitchell just upped her ante in their legal battle as she sought a temporary restraining order for their daughter, alleging that the actor's posts on social media were grounds for harassment, TMZ reported.
Gibson's ex-wife also asked the court to force the "Fast and Furious" star to remove those posts and refrain from talking about them online. She also wanted him to pay for therapy sessions.
A judge has yet to rule on her request for TRO, according to the outlet.
In her filing, Mitchell claimed that the "Baby Boy" actor used Instagram to make their disagreement public. She also alleged that he was "slamming [her] with a cruel barrage of derogatory and defamatory posts, including false accusations she has committed blackmail, extortion, death threats, tax evasion, forgery, bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering."
Additionally, Mitchell called out Gibson for sharing the family court motion on social media by adding a Google Drive link to his bio. According to her, the motion contained sensitive information, including Shayla's school and personal details about the mother and daughter.
Mitchell's lawsuit also claimed that Gibson was aware he wasn't supposed to share the motion by highlighting the caption of his post on May 1, where he wrote, "Before they make me delete this post and the link with the full 167 pages of court documents with details [receipts] to back up everything GO THERE NOW."
In the same post, Gibson accused his ex of not following the court order to pay their daughter's tuition. He also said that he was "done living in fear."
"Imagine a COURT ORDER that states we're supposed to be 5050 on school tuition, and she's missed 3 FULL YEARS of payments? If No f***s given was a person," he wrote.
"I am done with living in fear... I got 1 TYRESE! Just 1.. and I am going to protect my name and legacy and family until I take my last breath.. This is a man BLEEDING OUT LOUD."
However, a week later, Gibson said he was "drained" amid his legal battle with Mitchell. He noted that he believed in God but was "discouraged and feel like I've hit a wall." He also admitted that he was "in a bad place" before expressing that he was still "living in fear" in contrast to his previous post.
"Still living in fear of my ex [Norma] and what new vile s**t she's going to once again say or accuse me of in response to my 167 pages filed in the courts [link in bio]," he wrote.
"I've emptied myself and hit a wall. I just need to pause and pray and tell myself everyday that this is all in God's plan... If you really know me...Check on me when you can. Most would never post this because perception vs reality and deception is the life of most celebs."
