Meghan Markle Shares Rare Lilibet Update; Dancing In Workout Attire Video Resurfaces
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's daughter Princess Lilibet has inherited her mother's love of performing.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Nigeria for a three-day visit, and one of their first stops Friday was a school in the country's capital Abuja.
While speaking with the young kids there, Markle revealed that "singing and dancing" was her daughter Lili's "favorite class," People reported.
According to the former actress, the little princess loved the class because of "all the jumping around."
As soon as Markle's comments hit social media, an old home video of the duchess dancing resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter.
In the clip, Markle -- whose mother Doria is a yoga instructor -- can be seen having fun and busting out dance moves in a tank top and pair of black leggings in her living room as her dog Guy looked on.
The home video was recorded before Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot and first appeared in the Sussexes' Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" in 2022.
Sussex supporters said they were not surprised to hear Lili was developing a love of dancing as both her mother Meghan and grandmother Princess Diana adored it.
"Lilibet Diana's favorite class is dancing and we all know why. She's the daughter of Meghan and the granddaughter of Diana. Dancing is in her blood!" one fan wrote.
During the visit to the school, Markle and Prince Harry also gave a glimpse of how they have fun with their kids at home as they played classroom games such as "jump up, turn around" with the Lightway Academy students, as seen in a video shared by reporter Simon Perry.
In addition to her daughter's favorite activities, Markle opened up about an emotional moment she recently had with Lili.
"Our daughter, Lili, she's much, much tinier than you guys. She's about to turn 3. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she [goes], 'Mama, I see me in you,'" the duchess told the young students, according to People.
While Lili may have meant it "literally," Markle admitted that she "hung onto those words in a very different way."
"And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you," she continued. "As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well."
Markle and Prince Harry are also the parents of 5-year-old son Prince Archie.
Markle mentioned Prince Archie's recent birthday as she was introduced to a 5-year-old student in the class and revealed that their son is interested in "construction."
Following the visit to the school, Prince Harry met injured service members at a military hospital in Abuja.
The couple has several other engagements lined up for their Nigeria visit, including attending a Women in Leadership event, a basketball clinic with Giants of Africa, a cultural reception and a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered.
