Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Foundation received a delinquency notice from the California Attorney General.

On May 3, a "delinquency notice and warning of assessment of penalties and late fees, and suspension or revocation of registered status" were issued to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's foundation by California Attorney General Rob Bonta on behalf of the Registry of Charities and Fundraisers, according to Page Six.

In the document obtained by the outlet, Archewell was "listed as delinquent with the Registry of Charities and Fundraisers for failing to submit required annual report(s) and/or renewal fees."

"An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds."

"The organization may also be subject to penalties and its registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry. Once you submit the delinquent record(s), you will be notified of the amount of any late fees that are owed," the notice indicated.

With this notice, the couple's charity foundation would not be able to continue raising or spending money until they resolve the issue.

Per a source, the foundation already sent a check with filing to the Attorney General's Office, but it has not been received. Archewell reportedly issued a new one, and it will be back on track when everything is processed.

The Sussexes founded the nonprofit organization in 2020, a few months after they stepped away from being senior royals.

Per the foundation's official website, it was built with the "simple" mission to "show up [and] do good" and the core belief "that mental health and our collective wellbeing are paramount."

"We meet the moment by showing up, taking action and using our unparalleled spotlight to uplift and unite communities -- local and global -- through acts of service and compassion," the foundation's About page read.

Included in the About page is a statement saying, "The Archewell Foundation is a 501c3 and is compliant with all deadlines and measures of the charitable sector and operates with complete transparency."
