Vice President Kamala Harris dropped the F-bomb while offering some advice to young people Monday.

During a leadership summit for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander organizations, Harris used the profanity while discussing the importance of breaking down barriers, the Associated Press reported.

"We have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won't. And then you need to kick that f**king door down," Harris told the young people in the audience at the annual Asian-Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies Legislative Leadership Summit.

Harris' advice and use of the F-word elicited cheers from the crowd.

The vice president joined in the laughter, adding, "Excuse my language."

Actor and comedian Jimmy O. Yang, who was moderating the conversation, joked, "We gotta make T-shirts with that saying, 'Kick that f**king door down!"

Harris said she was quoting her scientist mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris' advice to her about proving one's self.

Harris -- who was the first woman, the first Black American and the first South Asian American to be elected U.S. vice president -- discussed the need for Asian Americans to break barriers as they aim for political representation.

"Here's the thing about breaking down barriers. It does not mean that you start on one side of the barrier and end up on another," Harris said. "There's breaking involved. And when you break things, you get cut, and you may bleed. And it is worth it every time."

Sharing words of wisdom to the young Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, "To especially the young people here, I say to you, when you walk in those rooms, being the only one that looks like you, the only one with your background, you walk in those rooms, chin up, shoulders back."

"Be it a meeting room, a boardroom, a courtroom, a hearing room, you walk in those rooms, knowing that we are all in that room with you, applauding you on and expecting certain things from you, including that you will not be silent in those rooms," the vice president added.

This is not the first time a president or vice president has been heard using profanity, though it doesn't usually happen in such a public event.

Unnamed insiders told Politico in February they heard President Joe Biden calling his Republican challenger former President Donald Trump "sick f**k" behind closed doors.

One unnamed individual who has spoken with Biden claimed the president said of Trump, "What a f**king a**hole the guy is," according to the outlet.

Trump also allegedly dropped the F-bomb back in 2020 while criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for acknowledging Biden's election win.

"F**k him," Trump said at the time, according to Axios.
