Whoopi Goldberg 'Agitated' By Trump's 'Canada Doesn't Want You' Diss: 'Not Going Anywhere'
Whoopi Goldberg has fired back at Donald Trump after the former president insulted her on social media.
During Monday's episode of "The View," the actress said she was "agitated" by Trump spreading false rumors that said she will be moving to Canada if he becomes president.
"You know what I'm a little agitated about?" Goldberg said.
"That man has something to say to me, he saw a meme that said I was leaving the country. People always see these crazy memes that say I'm gonna leave the country if he gets in there. Somebody else said I was leaving and sent suggestions for people to take my place."
The "Sister Act" star -- who has criticized the ex-president multiple times on the show over the years -- went on to set the record straight as she looked at the camera and directly addressed Trump, whom she called a "snowflake."
"Look I'm not going anywhere. And it's not for the reason -- you little snowflake -- it's not for the reason you think," she told Trump. "He said nobody wanted me. Honey, you know what, it wouldn't matter if no one here wanted me."
Goldberg paused for a moment to thank an audience member who told her, "We love you Whoopi," before going on to reiterate that she isn't leaving the U.S. no matter what the outcome of the next election is.
"I know where I'm going to be because I got a contract so I'm going to be here where I'm wanted for the next couple of years," she concluded, causing the audience and her fellow panelists to cheer.
Goldberg's statement was in response to a post made by Trump on Truth Social hours earlier.
The GOP 2024 presidential candidate reposted a meme featuring a photo of Goldberg that had been edited to make her look bigger.
The meme also included a fake quote from the actress, which read: "I'm moving to Canada for sure this time!"
Trump added his two cents by writing: "Canada doesn't want you Whoopi, NOBODY DOES!!!"
This is not the first time Goldberg has addressed the false rumors that she will leave the U.S. due to Trump.
During a November 2016 episode of "The View," Goldberg explained that she had been "incorrectly lumped" in with individuals who declared they were moving to another country because she read comments from such people on-air during a March 2016 broadcast.
During the said episode, Goldberg declared that she "wouldn't leave this country for him to p**s all over, for any reason."
She repeated this in November 2016, telling viewers she was "not leaving the country that I was born and raised in."
Goldberg added, "We're allowed to stand up and say we disagree. Whether we agree or not, it's OK. But you don't get to get to tell me that I'm going. You don't get to make that decision for me. I'm staying!"
