Metro Boomin has faced significant online criticism in recent months, notably for taking sides in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, with internet users urging him to focus on producing rather than voicing opinions.

Additionally, he faced backlash for past tweets regarding relationships with younger women, earning him the moniker "Metro Groomin" on social media. Now, Soulja Boy has reignited tensions by confronting Metro Boomin over a tweet from 2012.

"My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy. Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down."

Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, demanded that Metro Boomin remove the message from X within 24 hours, threatening repercussions if not complied with.

Meanwhile, 21 Savage entered the fray to defend his close collaborator. The situation took a distasteful turn on May 12, coinciding with Mother's Day, as Soulja Boy, 33, resorted to insulting Metro's deceased mother, questioning Metro's sacrifices made for fame and success.

"F**k that n***a mama!!!!!!!!!! Don't speak on my name b***h! You sacrificed your own mom @MetroBoomin you a puppet. All the streams, sales, money, and fame not gone bring your mom back @MetroBoomin was it worth it?" the 'Crank That' rapper asked.

"I can say f**k this money and fame s**t and still be a boss can you?"

Soulja Boy has intensified his stance against the two artists as he doubled down on mentioning Metro's deceased mother.

"F**k u and his mama lil boy," he quote tweeted 21 Savage, born Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph. "Nah umma swing on u when I see you lame."

Metro's mother, Leslie Joanne Wayne, died in 2022 in what appeared to be a murder-suicide perpetrated by Metro's stepfather, TMZ reported.
