Drake 'Nothing Was The Same': 6 Facts To Know About Its Songs, Collaborations & More [VIDEO]
As fans wait for the release of Drake's third album titled Nothing Was The Same, EnStars compiled a list of six facts we already know.
1) The album will be released on Sept. 17, and Drake will headline a tour to support it. Would You Like A Tour? kicks off on Sept. 25 and ends on Nov. 25. Future and Miguel will also accompany the Canadian native.
2) The album's first single is Started From The Bottom. The song peaked at No. 6 on Billboard and the music video has garnered over 73 million views on YouTube. The second single, Hold On, We're Going Home, was released in early August.
3) In an interview with GQ magazine in June, Drake revealed that another track on the album is titled Tuscan Leather and it's named after "a Tom Ford fragrance that some say smells like a brick of cocaine." The cologne was released in 2007.
4) Jay Z could appear on the album. In May, the two rappers were photographed in the studio together by Def Jam A&R executive Lenny Santiago. "Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we're working on. OVO x ROCNATION," Santiago wrote as the photo's caption.
5) Singer Jhene Aiko will be featured on the album. "Jhene on NWTS. Momentous Occasions," Drake tweeted in June. The two have worked together on the song July from the rapper's 2010 mix tape Something You Forgot.
6) Those working with Drake have praised the record, including producer Detail. "The album is amazing," he told XXL in July. The two also collaborated on a song for the upcoming album.
Nothing Was The Same will be the follow-up to 2011's Take Care. Drake's sophomore album peaked at No. 1 on Billboard, as did his debut album Thank Me Later in 2010. Take Care also won the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 2013 award show and sold more than a million copies in the U.S. alone.
