Hilton, 43, faced criticism after she shared a TikTok on Monday depicting her 16-month-old son Phoenix and 6-month-old daughter London secured in their car seats. Fans noted that both children were positioned facing forward, contrary to the guidelines stated on the seat's brand website, which recommends rearward-facing orientation.

The New York native also received backlash for utilizing both a latch and belt simultaneously, a practice deemed potentially unsafe by some observers.

"Please hire someone to install car seats," one commenter said under the now-removed video. "Crazy unsafe. This is wild."

California law mandates that children under 2-years-old must be positioned rearward-facing in their car seats until they either weigh 40 pounds or measure 40 inches in height.

Hilton shared a new video on Tuesday, this time with the car seats positioned rearward-facing.

"Thanks for the mom advice, I'm new to this️," she said under the post. "The #CutesieCrew is now ready for take off in the #SlivingMom van."

Safe in the Seat, an organization dedicated to promoting child safety in car seats, said it's crucial for young children to face rearward to safeguard their bodies in the event of a car accident.

"The rear-facing positioning is important for babies whose spinal cord hasn't yet ossified (turned from cartilage to bone)," the website shared. "They need more support of the head, neck, and spine to protect their delicate bodies. In the event of a crash, a rear-facing car seat protects a baby's whole body by absorbing the crash impact."
