President Joe Biden once again stumbled at a public event this week but managed to avoid repeating his headline-making 2023 on-stage fall.

The 81-year-old president saved himself from another embarrassing tumble while attending a memorial for fallen police officers at the Capitol Wednesday.

In a video shared on X, formerly Twitter, Biden could be seen walking up a gradual flight of steps at the annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service.

Appearing to misjudge the height of the first step, the president tripped but immediately caught himself and avoided faceplanting on stage.

After tripping, Biden broke into a jog for a moment before returning to his previous pace and successfully reaching the center of the stage without any additional incident.

While Biden did not suffer a fall, some critics used the moment to question whether he is physically fit to serve another four years in the White House.

But others defended Biden, pointing out that individuals of any age can stumble.

"Happens to the best of us. At least he recovered quickly," one person wrote on X.

"I don't care about his stumbles. He's human," another commented.

Biden was not so lucky in June last year when he took a fall on stage at the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation ceremony in Colorado.

After giving the commencement address and shaking hands with graduates, the president tripped and fell near the podium.

Secret Service agents and an Air Force officer quickly helped him back to his feet, and Biden was able to walk unassisted after.

Biden later said he got "sandbagged" as he had tripped on a small sandbag placed on stage to support the teleprompter.

Other mishaps Biden suffered throughout his presidency included stumbling while going up the stairs and onto Air Force One and getting caught up in his bike pedals.

Despite the concerns about his age and his fitness to serve, Biden was declared "fit for duty" by White House physician Kevin O'Connor following the president's annual physical in February.

According to a report released by the White House, Biden is receiving treatment for several existing ailments, including sensory peripheral neuropathy of the feet -- a condition that affects a person's ability to maintain a steady gait.

Its effects include losing balance and being more prone to falls, according to HealthXchange.

However, the doctor concluded that Biden is "a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency" following the examination.
